HEAD COACH Bill Blankenship

On January 6, 2017, the Owasso School Board chose Bill Blankenship to lead the Ram Football Program. And the highly decorated coach immediately led a talented group of Rams to the 2017 Class 6AI State Title. Bill Blankenship is going into his 37th season and 4th at Owasso as a football coach. He spent 26 years in high school football leading programs at Eastwood Christian, Spiro, Edmond Memorial, Union and Fayetteville. His high school teams reached the Championship game 11 times and won 6 State Championships, three at Union, one at Fayetteville, and two here at Owasso. He also coached nine years in the college ranks, eight at The University of Tulsa and one season at the University of Memphis. During that time his teams competed in six Bowl games. In 2012, his Tulsa team chalked up 11 victories while winning the C-USA Conference Championship and the Liberty Bowl. Coach Blankenship grew up and graduated high school in Spiro, Oklahoma. He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Tulsa while playing football for the Golden Hurricane and a Masters degree from NSU. The Blankenships have been married since 1978. Coach and Angie have three sons, three daughters-in-law and ten grandchildren. Josh and Lindsay (Barrett, Grace, Deacon, Stevie) reside in Alamosa, Colorado where Josh is the head coach at Adams State University. Caleb and Kimmy (Logan, Brady, Aubree) live in Bixby. Adam & Erica (Abel, Hutch, Bodie Bill) make their home in Broken Arrow

Sam Bowers will be entering his 23rd year coaching at Owasso High School. Coach Bowers came to Owasso after previously coaching 8 years at Catoosa High School. He is the head women's soccer coach and also serves as the Head freshman football coach in the fall. Coach Bowers recently became the second winningest coach in high school soccer history when he won his 400th game. He graduated from Tahlequah High school and attended Northeastern State University where he majored in Education and Criminal Justice. While attending NSU he was a four year starter on the Men's soccer team. He teaches Oklahoma History at the West campus.In His spare time, he likes to hunt, fish and play golf. Coach Bowers has 1 daughter (Mia) who is a junior and attends Oklahoma State University.

Josh Bushyhead is entering his 6th year at Owasso as the Head Coach of boys’ soccer. Coach Bushyhead graduated from Verdigris High School in 2004 and went on to play college soccer at Northern Oklahoma College. Coach Bushyhead obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University in 2008. Bushyhead is entering his 13th year teaching and is currently an Algebra I teacher for Owasso. This year will be his 12th year coaching at the high school level, previously at Claremore High School and Verdigris High School before arriving in Owasso. Coach Bushyhead and his family are members of LifeChurch, and they reside in Verdigris.

Blake Collins began coaching at Owasso in 2005. He graduated from Edmond North High School in 1996, Oklahoma Christian University in 2002, and the University of Texas at Arlington in 2012. He has coached Track and Cross Country since 2000 and was named the Head Cross Country Coach in 2012.Blake teaches Art at the 8th Grade Center. His wife, Shelly is the AP Art teacher at Owasso High School and they have three kids, Wilder, Gwyneth, and Adalyn.

Coach Eicher was born in Wichita, Kansas. He is a 1991 graduate of Owasso High School and played football and baseball for the Rams. Shane went on to earn his degree at NSU while playing baseball. In addition to his duties as Head Softball Coach, Coach Eicher also serves as the slow pitch head coach. He teaches Geography at the 7th Grade Center. During his tenure as Softball Coach at OHS, Coach Eicher has coached 37 All State Players, was named Region 7 Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2012 and served as an All State Coach in 2005 and 2012. His softball teams have compiled a record of 574-201. Shane and his wife, Shanna, have two children, Allie and Easton.  Owasso Hall of Fame 2020.  This is my 20th year as head coach.

Meghann Kannett is beginning her 7th year as Head Volleyball Coach at Owasso. She started coaching for the Lady Rams freshman team in 2005 during college and then moved to be the JV head coach in 2007. She has coached a total of 14 seasons. Meg is a 2003 graduate of Owasso High School, where she played volleyball for 5 years. She continued her volleyball career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma City University. Meg earned the honor of the 2018 Region 7 Coach of the Year and was named the 2019 All-State Coach for the East side. She has a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Human Health Performance and Recreation. Meghann teaches sophomore English and Leadership at Owasso High School and also serves on the Veterans Day Committee alongside her family who also teach at Owasso. She and her husband, Kris, have one daughter, Klaire, and they enjoy supporting the Rams, traveling, and running

Coach Brian Montonati is a 1995 graduate of Muskegon Orchard View High School in Muskegon, Michigan where he starred in basketball. He was a 3-time All Stater and runner-up as Mr. Basketball in Michigan in '95. Brian attended Fullerton Junior College in California and graduated from Oklahoma State University where he played for legendary coach, Eddie Sutton. Montonati and the Cowboys made the NCAA tournament from 1997 to 2000. They advanced to the Elite Eight in 2000 and during this time he was Big 12 All-Conference and the second leading scoring and leading rebounder for The Cowboys. He continued his playing career in Italy where he led his teams to 3 championships from 2000 to 2008. After retiring from basketball he has developed a career in medical device sales. He has coached at all levels and for the past 9 years he has been a coach at Owasso High School.  Coach Montonati has 3 kids, Mya (15), Jalen (13) and Kai (6)

Macy Neph is the Varsity POM squad's head coach. Macy grew up in Owasso and attended OPS from kindergarten through 12th grade. Macy was a dancer for 20 years and was a member of Owasso Varsity Pom during her high school years. Macy attended college at Oklahoma State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences. After graduation Macy came back home to Owasso and began assistant coaching OVP for a year before taking on the role as head coach. Along with coaching OVP, Macy teaches special education at Morrow Elementary. Macy just married her high school sweetheart, Gabe Neph this summer. Together they have a goldendoodle puppy named Sully. Macy loves being able to be back and give back to the Owasso school district and to Owasso athletics, who poured so much into her during her childhood.

Larry Turner has been the Head Baseball Coach at Owasso High School for 38 years. His career record includes 1,156 wins with only 251 losses and is the current leader for large schools in Oklahoma with all- time wins. He has taken the Rams to the state tournament finals 16 out of the last 21 years, while leading Owasso to 11 State Championships. He has also been named National Coach of the Year by both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Baseball Coaches Association (BCA). As a player, he caught for Owasso’s first State Championship team in 1973 and represented Owasso on the East’s All State team. He is an honored member of Owasso High School’s Inaugural Hall of Fame Class of 2010 and was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame in 2016. He and his wife, Kim, both graduates of Owasso High School, have been married for 43 years. All four of their children, Tiff, Meg, Jillie and Dodger, graduated from OHS, as well. He is also the proud Papi to his grandchildren Braylynn, Kayden and Klaire.

Leslie Van Meter is entering her 7th year coaching, 3rd as the Head Coach for Owasso Varsity Cheer. During her time with OVC they have brought home 4 State Championships and 3 National Championship titles. She grew up in Tulsa where she graduated from Broken Arrow HS and then went on to cheer for the University of Oklahoma. During her time at OU, she received her Bachelor degree in Rehabilitative Sciences and Masters in Occupational Therapy. Coach Van Meter is currently an Occupational Therapist for Owasso Public Schools. Leslie and her husband, Ethan, have been married for 3 years and reside in Owasso with their pup, Scout.

Zach McGinty starts his 3rd year at Owasso.  Before coming to Owasso, Zach served on staff at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, MidAmerica Nazarene University (Olathe, KS), and the University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond, OK). He received a B.S. in Athletic Training from Oklahoma State University. Zach is a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and holds a certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Zach and his wife Kayla reside in Owasso with their 6-year-old son Maverick and their daughter Hallie, who was born in February of 2020.

Destri Millsap attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a rodeo scholarship where he received his bachelors in Health and Sports Science. He then attended the University of Central Oklahoma receiving his masters in athletic training and did an internship with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Destri has worked with Owasso Athletics since 2017 and has been a certified athletic trainer since 2014.  Destri and his wife Jordan, live out in the country where they both continue to rodeo and train horses.

Levy Adcock is an Oklahoma native. His athletic career began at Sequoyah High School in Claremore, OK. Adcock went on to attend NEO A&M then to Oklahoma State University. Adcock also played professionally in both the NFL (Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants) and the CFL (Saskatchewan Roughriders and BC Lions).Adcock is entering his third season coaching for the Rams and teaching American Government at the West campus. He is married to Sarah Adcock. They have a daughter, Anna, and son, LJ.

Brandon Brewer is a native of Greenwood, AR. He graduated from University of the Ozarks in 2015 where he was a four-year starter on the baseball team and an Academic All-Conference member all four years. Brandon was hired at Owasso in the fall of 2015. He is a varsity baseball assistant and helps with social media and broadcasting for varsity sporting events. He teaches in the Business/Technology department at Owasso High School. Brandon is married to Morgan, who is a teacher and volleyball coach for Owasso. They have two dogs, Maddux and Pepper.

Morgan Brewer is a native of Owasso, OK. She graduated from Owasso High School in 2010 and was a member of the 2008 6A State Champion Volleyball Team. She graduated from Northeastern State University in 2015 with a degree in Mathematics Education. While attending college, Morgan began her coaching career with Owasso volleyball in 2010. Morgan was hired at Owasso in the fall of 2015. She is the head JV volleyball coach and an assistant varsity volleyball coach in the fall and an assistant varsity tennis coach in the spring. She teaches pre-algebra at the Owasso 8th Grade Center. Morgan is married to Brandon, who is a teacher and baseball coach for Owasso. They have two dogs, Maddux and Pepper.

 Brad Calip is one of the most decorated High school and collegiate players in the state. In 4 years at the helm of the Booker T. Washington High school football program, he instilled the same expectations of excellence that he learned from working with some of the most successful high school coaches in Oklahoma (Larry McBroom - Ada; Tom Noles - Moore; and Alan Trimble - Jenks).  As an assistant for the Jenks Trojans, Brad gained 10 years of State Championship experience. Brad is married to Darlene and they have two sons (Braden and Brice).

Michelle Cantrell is an Oklahoma State University graduate and has been teaching and coaching at OPS for 25 years.  She helped start the OPS volleyball program in 1995 and was the head coach of the 2008 6A State Champion Volleyball Team.  In addition, she has coached basketball and track throughout her 25 years.  She is currently the Jr. High Boys/Girls golf coach, and has been since 2013 where she also assists the Varsity Girls and Boys golf teams. Michelle teaches at the 8th Gr. Ctr and has been married for 26 years. She has two kids, 18 and 21 yrs old, who both attend Oklahoma State University.

Omar Chavez is an Owasso Alumni and spent his high school years playing soccer for the Owasso Rams. He is in his ninth year of coaching high school soccer. He was the assistant girls’ soccer coach for Edison High School and then became the head girls’ soccer coach for Memorial High School in Tulsa. He currently lives in Owasso with his wife Chelsea and their two daughters Isabella and Addyson. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, playing soccer and spending time with his family.

Paul Cherry will be in his first season at Owasso coaching the Ram position after previous stops at The University of Tulsa and Bixby High School.  After graduating from The University of Kansas Paul began coaching in 2014 at The University of Tulsa under Coach Blankenship as a graduate assistant and remained on staff through the fall of 2017.  In 2018 Paul coached the Defensive Line at Bixby High School for a season before returning to The University of Tulsa as a Quality Control Assistant in recruiting and special teams.  Paul is originally from Kansas City and has been married for 2 years to his wife Megan.

Coach Johnny Dyson began his coaching career in 2004 in Braggs, OK. After stops at Jay and Tahlequah, OK, he became an assistant coach for girls’ basketball at Owasso in 2019. He graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. He teaches Geography at the 7th Grade Center. Coach Dyson and his wife Kassie, have been married for sixteen years. They have two children Knox and Elle.

Dominique Franks is entering his 1st year coaching as the Secondary Coach. Dominique is a graduate of Tulsa Union High School in 2006 where he also played for Coach Blankenship. He and also attended Owasso High School between 2000-03. He is from the Oklahoma City area before moving to Owasso. After graduating from Union he attended the University of Oklahoma on a football scholarship from 2006-2010. While at Oklahoma he was a All Big 12 corner.. after playing 4 season for Oklahoma he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons where he played for 4 years before playing 1 for the Baltimore Ravens. Before entering his first year of coaching Dominique also played 2 season overseas as a Pro Basketball player in Montenegro & Spain

Natalie Fuller is in her 13th season as a varsity assistant softball coach for the Rams. Coach Fuller serves as the Pitching Coach. Natalie is a 2002 graduate of OHS where she was a three-sport athlete for the Rams in softball, basketball, and tennis. She earned All-State Honors in softball. Coach Fuller has a Bachelor of Science in English Education. Natalie and her husband, Brian, reside in Owasso. They have two children, Finlee and Hazel

Coach Antonio Graham graduated from Tulsa Union High School in 2005. He was an All State performer at linebacker and team captain for Coach Bill Blankenship. Antonio attended Pittsburg State University and was a team captain and All-MIAA performer at linebacker. While at Pitt State, he received the Joe Murphy Award and was named Defensive MVP in 2009. He graduated with a degree in psychology.  Antonio has coached at the University of Tulsa and Union High School before coming to Owasso.  He has a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Tulsa. He teaches geography at the 7th Grade Center and coaches Tight Ends for the Rams. Antonio Graham and his fiancé Shawna Thompson have one daughter, Tatum Thompson along with their newborn Zachary Graham who was born on July 13, 2020

Melissa Holson began coaching at Owasso in 2005. She graduated from Meeker High School in 1995 and East Central University in 1999. She has helped coach softball at Owasso for 16 years. Melissa teaches Special Education at the high school. She is married to Steve Holson and has two daughters, Karson and Kambry.

Meredith Jones is the Owasso pom assistant coach. Meredith grew up in Bartlesville oklahoma, and has been dancing since she was two years old. Meredith was a member of the Bartlesville varsity pom team in high school, then continued to dance in college on the Oklahoma State Pom squad. Meredith was the assistant coach for Bartlesville Varsity Pom for multiple years, and was the head coach for the 2019-2020 season. Meredith is recently married to her husband Joseph Jones, and together have a daughter, Maci Jones. Meredith and her family moved to Owasso in June of this year.

This is Larry Luellen's first year as a varsity assistant coach for the Rams boys basketball program.  He graduated from Claremore Sequoyah High School in 1999. In May of 2000, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for four years.  Larry obtained a bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University in 2011. Previously, he served as a varsity assistant at Catoosa for 4 years and most recently, he was a varsity assistant at Claremore Sequoyah for 2 years. Larry and his wife Amber reside in Claremore. They have 5 children, Ashley (23), Whitney (19), Avery (10), Kenley (8), and Anthony (deceased)(13).

Stephen Miller graduated from Shawnee High School, and from the University of Oklahoma. He was the head boys and girls soccer coach at Shawnee High School until 2009. He still holds school records for the most wins in program history. This is his 5th year at Owasso. Coach Miller teaches English on the East Campus. He lives in Owasso with his wife Andrea and his children Kahlin, Jayden, Riley, Ian, and Brittyn.

Justin Morsey begins his fourth  year at Owasso as Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. He is a 2005 graduate of Sapulpa High School. Justin attended Northeastern A&M before transferring to the University of Tulsa. In his three years at TU, Justin was an All Conference offensive lineman for the Golden Hurricane. Following his playing career, he served as a Graduate Assistant for 2 seasons. After Tulsa, Coach Morsey was at Union for six seasons. Justin and his wife, Hilary, have been married for eight years and both are employed as teachers for Owasso Public Schools. Daughter Landyn will turn two in November

Rickey Peaker is entering his twelfth year of coaching and his third year as a varsity assistant coach for the Rams boys basketball program. Rickey is a 2002 graduate of Chouteau High School where he was a member of the basketball, football, track, and cross country teams. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University in 2009 and his masters degree from East Central University in 2015. Previously, Coach Peaker served as a varsity assistant at Bixby for 4 years. Most recently, he was a varsity assistant at Union for 5 years where he was fortunate enough to be part of the 2014 state championship team. Coach Peaker and his wife, Maddie, reside in Bixby. Coach Peaker has 4 kids, Trey (9), James (7), Stella (4), and Kinley (2).

Asa Poteete is entering his first year at Owasso as a Varsity Assistant and 14th year coaching HS football. He spent 10 yrs coaching in Oklahoma, and the last 3 years was spent as the Offensive Line Coach and Head Track Coach at Pea Ridge High School in Arkansas. Asa played TE at both Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Northeastern State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. He was a 3 sport lettermen at Tahlequah High School in football, basketball, and track. Zac Simmonds is entering his 13th year of coaching and 4th year at Owasso after previous stops in Plano, Texas and Ada, OK. Coach Simmonds works with the Quarterbacks as well as being the Co-Offensive Coordinator/Passing Game Coordinator. He grew up in Tulsa where he attended Union High School and then went on to play football at SMU in Dallas, TX. He is married to his wife Cat and they have two children, Ford and Sloane

Kendall Standridge is a 2007 graduate of Owasso High School and a 2011 graduate of Oklahoma State University. Kendall began coaching at Owasso in 2013. She has coached girls basketball since 2013, and Cross country and Track beginning in 2018. Coach Standridge teaches geography at the Sixth Grade Center.  Years in the district: 9

Kristian Stitt is entering his second season coaching for Owasso after coaching one year with Union. He graduated high school from Oklahoma Bible Academy in Enid, OK, in 2014. Throughout his high school career he played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. He then continued his playing career at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK, playing football for all four years. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and is currently finishing up his Masters in Education Administration this fall. His dream is to one day be a high school football head coach and athletic director. He is very grateful and honored to be an Owasso Ram and loves coaching receivers for the 8th grade team. He has been married to his amazing wife Sammee for 3 years.

Coach Jason Stump graduated from Claremore high school in 1991 and Northeastern State University in 1997. At NSU he earned his bachelor degree in Secondary Mathematics. He then started his teaching and coaching career at Cushing High School teaching Algebra and coaching baseball and football. In 2001 he took a job at the Owasso mid high to teach Algebra and coach baseball and football. He currently teaches Geometry and Math Finance and coaches baseball and softball. Jason and his wife, Tiffany, have four children, Gabe, Cal, Chloe and Gavin

Kelly Walters is starting her 8th year as a cheer coach for Owasso and her 27th year of coaching all together. During her time with Owasso cheer they have brought home 4 State Championships and 5 National Championship titles. She grew up in Tulsa where she graduated from Nathan Hale HS. She went on to study education at OSU and continued to coach while in college. During her time at OSU, she received her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and later, a Masters in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership. Coach Walters is currently teaching science at the 8th Grade Center for Owasso Public Schools. Kelly and her husband, Rich, have been married for 22 years and reside in Owasso with their two daughters, Rylie and Rinzey.

Coach Mark Wesley is entering his third season coaching for Owasso. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, MS, where he played football and ran track. He then continued his playing career at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, MS, playing both football and baseball. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1983. He coaches the defensive line for the 8th grade football teams, and also works with JV Baseball.  He has been married to his wife Nina for 34 years, and they have two children, Lauryl and Logan, both graduates of Owasso High School.
