Athlete spotlight – Owasso tennis player Andrew Aylor – Presented by Renaissance Realty

Owasso High School senior tennis star Andrew Aylor serves as the team’s captain.

Rams head coach Bill Baysinger called Aylor a “leader on and off the courts.”

Aylor, a John Brown University commit, has been playing tennis since the sixth grade, when his dad and pastor both encouraged him to try it. He attended the tryout, performed well and never looked back. His dad remains one of his greatest influences in the sport.

“He has taught [me] how to compete and win but also how to show sportsmanship,” Aylor said.

“He has been there during the winning and losing, walking me through it all.”

Aylor serves as president of Owasso’s FCA chapter. He picked JBU over others for its religious affiliation.

“[JBU] is a faith-based school, and I have been given the opportunity to go and play with a great group of guys and coach,” Aylor said.

Aylor will graduate from Owasso as a “distinguished graduate.” It is one of his proudest accomplishments.

“Keeping good grades and test scores has allowed me to receive more scholarship money for college,” Aylor said. “I’m so thankful for the friends, teammates and teachers that I have met.

These people have helped me through my four years a Owasso High School.”

Aylor is also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council.
